Markets may see bouts of volatility with a slightly negative bias in the near to medium term ahead of Budget, said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research) at Mehta Equities.
Shares of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone moved 1.39% up to close at Rs 1,093.50 in the previous trading session. The private port operator said it will raise up to Rs 5,000 crore by selling non-convertible debentures. Also, the company announced a board rejig with Gautam Adani redesignated as executive chairman, Karan Adani named MD and Ashwani Gupta as CEO.
Shares of Vedanta gained 2.17% to close at Rs 263.65. UK-based Vedanta Resources has received support from bondholders to restructure four series of bonds, the parent of Indian metals conglomerate Vedanta said.
Torrent Power shares climbed 0.64% to close at Rs 944.05. The company has signed four non-binding memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with the Gujarat government under the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. Through the MoUs, Torrent Power has proposed total investments of Rs 47,350 crore.
Shares of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd rose 0.28% to settle at Rs 56.82. The small finance lender said its affordable housing loan segment recorded highest ever quarterly disbursement.
Shares of Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) moved 1.69% lower to close at Rs 163.10. The energy exchange said it has achieved 9,707 MU overall volume in December 2023, marking a 14.9% increase on YoY basis. IEX has achieved 8,655 MU total electricity volume in December 2023, registering an increase of 8.7% on YoY basis.
