Market recap: Sensex & Nifty hit fresh record highs

Indian equity benchmarks continued their record run on Friday, led by gains in banks, financials, metals, automobiles and realty stocks. The 30-share BSE Sensex surged 1,360 points or 1.63% to settle at 84,544. The broader NSE Nifty closed 375 points or 1.48% higher at 25,790. Stocks such as Adani Green Energy, BSE, Max Healthcare and Macrotech Developers were among the top gainers on Nifty 200 this week.

BSE Ltd's stock was the top gainer this week in the Nifty 200 universe as the scrip soared 11.02% to Rs 800.65. The stock has zoomed 14% in the last one month.

Max Healthcare share price

Max Healthcare Institute Ltd's stock surged 10.56% this week to Rs 667 on NSE, and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. In the last one month, the stock has climbed 3.89%.

Macrotech Developers share price

Macrotech Developers Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 pack this week as it moved 9.78% higher to Rs 703 on NSE. The stock has gained 11.23% in the last one month.

Adani Green Energy  share price

Adani Green Energy Ltd's stock jumped 8.89% to Rs 603.8 on NSE in the week ended on September 20 and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. The stock has surged 20.91% on a monthly basis.

Torrent Power share price

Torrent Power Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe this week as it rose 8.07% to Rs 1,121.7 on NSE. In the last one month, the stock has moved up 4.96%. Shares of Dixon Technologies (India), Tube Investments, Mahindra & Mahindra and Escorts Kubota also picked up pace on NSE 200 during the week.

During the week, shares of Patanjali Foods, KPIT Technologies, Laurus Labs, Bharat Dynamics and Hindustan Aeronautics also saw sharp corrections on NSE 200.
