Benchmark indices on Monday fell sharply, dragged by banks, financials, consumer, metal and IT stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty closed at 21,513-level. Top laggards on the Nifty50 platform were UPL, SBI Life, SBI, M&M and Tech Mahindra while gainers included Adani Ports, ONGC, NTPC, Sun Pharma and Hero MotoCorp.
Stocks such as Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, Adani Ports, Reliance Industries and SBI were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, ONGC and PowerGrid were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Bandhan Bank emerged as the top loser in the NSE 500 index. The stock cracked 7.39% on NSE today to settle at Rs 233.1. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 37,550.3 crore.
Navin Fluorine International shares dived 5.57% to close at Rs 3,609.7. The company's m-cap came at Rs 17,894.2 crore.
Shares of Trident Ltd rose sharply today. The stock soared 17.85% to close at Rs 48.2 on Monday. At this, the company's market cap stood at Rs 24,562.5 crore.
Capri Global Capital shares surged 14.61% to end the session at Rs 889.75. The company's m-cap came at Rs 18,342.5 crore today.
