The address in an Aadhaar card can be updated by submitting proof of relationship with the head of the family, documents like ration cards, mark sheets, marriage certificates, and passports.
Any resident above the age of 18 can be HoF for this purpose and can share his/her address with his or her relatives wanting to update the address in Aadhaar.
If the proof of relationship document is not available, the resident can submit a self-declaration by the HoF in UIDAI-prescribed format.
Go to 'My Aadhaar' portal. Enter the Aadhaar number of the HoF. After validation of HoF's Aadhaar, the resident will be required to upload the proof of relationship.
The resident has to pay a fee of Rs 50. After payment, a service request number would be shared with the resident, and an SMS would be sent to HoF about the request.
HoF will be required to approve the request and give his/her consent by logging into 'My Aadhaar' portal within 30 days from the date of receiving the notification.
If HoF rejects the request and does not accept or decline within 30 days, the request would be closed.
The person seeking the update will be informed about the closure of the request via an SMS.
The fee will not be refunded if the request is closed or rejected due to non-acceptance of the HoF or rejected during the process.
