The Unique Identification Authority of India or UIDAI has reminded citizens to regularly update their details and biometric information, especially their photographs as they age
UIDAI is running an awareness campaign for citizens to update their details, including the photograph on their Aadhaar card to ensure there is no dated information in the record
As per the latest UIDAI notification, the last date to upload the latest details for Aadhaar Card is June 14, 2023
As per UIDAI guidelines, the photo and other details on Aadhaar Card cannot be updated online. You will have to visit the nearest Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Centre to update your photo on your Aadhaar Card
- If you had your Aadhaar Card made 10 years back, it is important to cross-check the details on it and get them updated if required
- Children who have now grown up since the launch of Aadhaar Card back in 2009, should get their photos and other information updated
UIDAI is charging Rs 100 to change the Aadhaar Card picture offline. The Aadhaar enrollment form can be downloaded online from the official website uidai.gov.in. Then, the updated form will have to be submitted to the Aadhaar enrollment centre along with the fee. Other details can be updated on Aadhaar Card for free up to June 14
Go to the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Seva KendraDownload the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction/Update form from the UIDAI website. You can also ask for the same from the executive at the centreFill up the form with the required detailsSubmit the biometric details to the executive
- You have to get your picture clicked at the centre itself
- Submit a fee of Rs 100
- You will then receive an acknowledgement slip with a URN (Update Request Number)
- You can check for the UIDAI Aadhaar update status via the URN provided
- Go to the Aadhaar page on the UIDAI website
- Click on “Download Aadhaar”
- Now enter the Aadhaar Number, Enrolment ID or Virtual ID
- Enter the Captcha and click on “Send OTP”Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number
- Click on “Verify & Download” to download the updated e-Aadhaar Card in pdf format
- Visit MyAadhaar website - https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
- Register with 12-digit Aadhaar no. generate OTP
- Click on document update, enter new details, and click 'I verify that the above details are correct'
- Upload 'Proof of Identity' - scanned copy of ID. Click Submit
- You will receive a 14-digit Update Request Number (URN) to track the changes
- Download the updated Aadhaar Card
