Tim Cook visited Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani at his house Antilia to have a business meeting ahead of the Apple Store launch at Jio World Drive. They were joined by other industrialists such as Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran

India’s first Apple Store was inaugurated in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) as Tim Cook greeted several anticipating customers who had lined up in front of the store to make their first purchase. Some of them also brought along their old Apple devices, a 10-year-old iPod and a 1984 Macintosh

A Twitter user named Kartik Bahekar said he was among the first three people to enter Mumbai’s Apple Store. He tweeted, “I met Tim Cook and didn't click a single picture, got completely engrossed in the moment. Forgot to get my Mac signed, but that's alright, we were the first three people in the store. Crazy energy. Loved it.”

India’s second Apple Store will be launched at Select Citywalk Mall in Saket on April 20

Despite the upcoming Delhi Apple store in Saket being half in size of Mumbai's BKC one, the rent of the two Apple stores is almost the same. As per CRE Matrix, the Apple store in Saket will be spread across 8,417.83 sqft while Apple BKC sprawls across 20,000 sqft. Apple will have to pay Rs 40 lakh per month for the Delhi store and Rs 42 lakh per month for the Mumbai store
