Apple iPhone 16 Series: From new design to features, here’s what to expect

Release Date

The Apple iPhone 16 series is expected to be announced in September 2024, with a market release likely ten days later.

Models

The lineup is rumoured to include two phones in the standard iPhone 16 series and two in the iPhone 16 Pro models. 

Sizes

The iPhone 16 Pro models will have larger displays: 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. Standard models retain the iPhone 15 sizes. As a result, the Pro models will be slightly taller and wider than the current generation iPhone 15 Pro series

Chipset

iPhone 16 models feature new A-series chips using the latest N3E 3-nanometer technology. Pro models may have a higher-end chip.

Buttons

All models are expected to include an Action Button. A new “Capture Button” is rumoured for photo and video capture.

Camera

The Pro models are expected to get new 48MP ultra-wide lens which will enable better low-light performance. This year the 5X telephoto lens will also make its debut on the smaller Pro model.

Other Features

The series will support Wi-Fi 7, offering faster speeds, better performance in crowded areas, and improved power efficiency.

 AI Features

The A18 Pro processor could enhance Apple AI, including smarter Siri integration and personalized Apple Music playlists. iOS 18 is also expected to bring new features

Design

Design tweaks include a vertically aligned camera layout and new button additions, similar to the iPhone 15 models.
