Apple is set to host its 34th Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 5 to June 9, 2023. The in-person event will take place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. The event can be streamed on Apple's official Youtube channel, Apple TV, Apple's website along with the app and website for developers. The keynote address will take place on the first day of the event, i.e., June 5 at 10:30 pm IST.
Appleās fans across the world eagerly wait for the annual WWDC as this is the day when the California-based tech giant reveals its upcoming new features, technology and products along with software updates. Products like new Macbooks, upcoming OS upgrades and new self-made processor chips are likely to be unveiled.
The California-based tech manufacturer could announce its first ever 15-inch version of MacBook Air supporting the display of 14-inch MacBook Pro. Other new expected products are a 24-inch iMac and the 13-inch versions of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. All these new products are expected to be powered by the latest M2 series processors.
Apple is expected to introduce a new M2 chipset, M2 Ultra, which will be the successor to M1 Ultra that was launched in March 2022.
Apple is also likely to finally launch its first mixed reality headset, reportedly called 'Reality Pro'. Apple might put a control knob on the headset to help switch between virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). The headset is expected to be powered by a M2-like chipset controlling around a dozen cameras to record body movements and facial expression. The price of the new headset is expected to be around $3,000 (Rs 2,48,213).
The iPhone-maker might also give a glimpse of its upcoming iOS17, which is expected to support all the iPhones launched after iPhone XS, iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series and the current iPhone 14 series.
Some of the new features expected in iOS 17 are - a Mood Tracker in the health app, a new journaling app, an upgraded Control Center, new features for Apple Music and increased functionality for Dynamic Island. Apple might also add the ability to sideload apps on iPhones and iPads due to the regulatory pressure from Europe.
A new WatchOS 10 is also expected to be a part of the announcements with new features including a new widget system allowing the users to check notifications without opening the application. MacBooks and iPads are also likely to get a new OS.
Apple will also help developers as they will be able to connect directly with Apple engineers and experts through the week via one-on-one labs and activities on Slack. This will provide them guidance for building more innovative and platform-differentiating apps. Developers will also get help to take their apps to the next level with the help of new tools, technologies, and advances across different Apple platforms.
