German automaker BMW launched its second electric SUV iX1 in India  earlier this week. The new SUV offers three powertrains – petrol, diesel and electric. This is the first luxury SUV of India to offer three powertrains.

Some of the main design features of the new BMW electric SUV are the adaptive LED headlights, square-shaped wheel arches and 18-inch M light alloy wheels. The new BMW iX1 also has a spacious rear diffuser, and L-shaped LED tail lights.

The electric version of the new BMW X1 SUV runs on a 66.4 kWh battery which is claimed to give a range of 440 km in a single charge. The car has BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive technology. The battery produces 308 bhp of power and 494 Nm of torque. The BMW iX1 electric SUV can go from 0-100 kmph in just 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 180kmph. The price of the new electric iX1 starts at Rs 66.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

The other electric SUV from BMW is the BMW iX. The car has only one variant with 76.6 kWh battery producing 322bhp of power and 630 Nm torque. BMW claims a range of 425 km for its electric SUV. The price of BMW iX SUV is Rs 1.16 crore.

Sports car brand Porsche offers an EV version of its popular Taycan SUV. The car has two models – Cross Turismo and Saloon. Both models claim the same 400km range but with different battery sizes. The lower model has a 79.2 kWh battery while the upper version gets a 93.4 kWh battery. The price of Porsche Taycan EV varies from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2.31 crore.

Audi launched its latest Q8 e-tron electric SUV in India last month. The car is available in two variants – SUV and Sportback. The latest offering from Audi comes with a 10.1-inch infotainment system and a panoramic sunroof. The car offers two motors – 95 kW and 114 kW with claimed ranges of 491 kms and 600 kms respectively. The price of the new Audi Q8 e-tron begins at Rs 1.14 crore.

Tata Group owned Jaguar has an electric SUV in the Indian market. The Jaguar I-Pace eSUV, runs on a 90 kWh battery producing 394bhp of power and 696 Nm torque. The I-Pace SUV has a WLTP-approved range of 470kms. The price of Jaguar I-Pace varies from Rs 1.20 crore to Rs 1.24 crore.

Mercedes-Benz launched its electric SUV in the Indian market last year. The electric version of GLB, known as EQB, comes with a 66.5 kWh battery pack which produces 225 bhp of power and 390 Nm torque. The car has a top speed of 160kmph and offers a range of 420kms. The price of Mercedes-Benz EQB varies from Rs 74.50 lakh to Rs 77.50 lakh.

Mercedes-Benz launched its new EQE SUV in India last week. The latest electric car from Mercedes-Benz is equipped with Level 2 ADAS features. The car also has a massive 56-inch hyperscreen inside the cabin. The new electric SUV runs on a 90.56 kW battery providing a WLTP approved range of 521 km in a single charge and producing 402 bhp of power with 858 Nm of torque. The price of the new Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV starts at Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom).
