WhatsApp now allows users to make audio and video calls on desktop and PCs for free. However, group calls are not yet supported on laptops/desktops or web
The new WhatsApp feature is supported on Windows 10 64-bit version 1903 and newer and macOS 10.13 and newer
Here are the quick steps that you can take to make a voice or video call via your desktop
To make an audio or video call, you just need to go to the chatbox of the concerned contact
Tap on the icon (audio, video) from top right corner as per your choice
Click on ‘Yes’ when asked to turn on the microphone and camera. And that is it!
You just need to tap on the video calling icon while on voice call screen or vice-versa to switch from one format to another
Users will have an option to pin the calling window at one corner of the desktop and continue with their other work
An audio output device, a microphone for voice video calls and a camera are necessary to make calls via desktop
