The Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp now allows users to share screen with participants during video calls, just like Google Meet and Zoom
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the new screen-sharing WhatsApp feature through Facebook post and his Instagram channel. He stated, ‘We're adding the ability to share your screen during a video call on WhatsApp.'
During video calls, WhatsApp users will be able to share documents, photos, and even shopping cart with the participants. They can even try it in landscape mode, if they want
Here are a few quick steps that you need to follow to use the newly announced WhatsApp feature
Open WhatsApp and place a video call to a contact
While on video call, tap on the Share icon placed at the bottom of the display
Now choose from two options: Share a specific app or share screen
Once you choose, tap on “Confirm” and you are good to go
Users can tap on “stop sharing” option, the moment they want to stop
WhatsApp’s screen-sharing option is being rolled out for Android, iOS and Web users in a phased manner
