Launched in 1998, the Apple USB Mouse, dubbed the ‘hockey puck’ due to its shape, was a round-shaped mouse launched by the company to woo consumers. But just after the launch, the product failed horribly. The main reason was the round shape of the mouse, which made the critical computer device uncomfortable to hold

To create a stir in the gaming industry in the 90s, Apple launched its gaming console Apple Pippin. This product was a combination of a computer and a gaming console

Apple’s Gaming Console:
Apple Pippin (1996)

Apple Pippin had no support from major game corporations and a big price of $599 did not help the product at all. It failed to compete with other popular consoles like the Nintendo 64 and Sony PlayStation and was discontinued a year later

The Apple III was a business-focused computer made for corporate companies. It was designed with no cooling fans to provide a silent, quiet working experience

Apple III (1980)

Removing cooling fans from Apple III led to overheating of the device and ruining several components of the computer. This extreme market failure tainted the company’s image and several units of the product had to be recalled. Apple III was finally discontinued in 1984
