An artisan in Aligarh named Satya Prakash Sharma and his wife Rukmini Sharma toiled for months to prepare the world’s largest handmade lock for Ayodhya Temple. The lock is 10 feet high, 4.5 feet wide, and 9.5 inches thick with a four feet key and has been made especially for the entrance of Ayodhya Ram Mandir
The world’s largest handmade lock was displayed at the annual Aligarh exhibition earlier this year. Sharma is making some minor modifications and will add some embellishments before handing it over to the Ayodhya Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir officials

As per reports, the lock cost Sharma Rs 2 lakh to create. It bears an engraving of Lord Ram and goddess Sita. The box, lever and hood of the lock will be made of brass and a steel scrap seat will be installed on the lock to prevent it from rust
During an interview with ANI, Satya Prakash Sharma’s wife Rukmini Sharma said, “I gradually started making locks and helped my husband in building the world’s largest lock. He (Satya Prakash) suffers from a heart ailment so I did not allow him to lift any heavy weight and instead, I took the load.”
Satya Prakash Sharma said, “The lock consists of brass weighing 60 kilos and iron. The total weight of the lock exceeds 3 quintals. I started making it before the lockdown.”

Ayodhya Ram Mandir is on its last leg of completion. Phase 1 of Ayodhya Ram Temple is expected to be completed by December 30, 2024
"We have requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be present during the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony (of Ram Mandir) which is scheduled to take place between 15th January to 24th January,” Ram Mandir Trust General Secretary Champat Rai earlier told ANI
