The winner of the 2022 Booker Prize was announced on October 18. This year's Booker Prize winner was Sri Lankan author Shehan Karunatilka

Karunatilka became the second Sri Lankan author to win the prestigious prize and won the Booker for his supernatural satire The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida

The novel is about a war photographer who has woken up dead in what seems to be a celestial visa office. He has 'seven moons' to try and solve the mystery of his death

Six others were in the running for Booker Prize 2022, which is the world's leading literary award for a single work of fiction
