It is the first such semi high-speed train for the state of Uttarakhand. PM Modi mentioned the same during inauguration, “Uttarakhand is getting its first Vande Bharat Express today from Dehradun to Delhi. This train will reduce the travelling time of the people.”

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were present at the venue of inauguration.

The train will leave Dehradun at 7 am and reach Delhi’s Anand Vihar railway station by 11:45 am. It will leave from Anand Vihar station in the evening at 5:50 pm and reach Dehradun at 10:35 pm.

The latest Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 302 kms in 4 hours and 45 minutes. It usually takes 6 hours and 10 minutes for the Shatabdi Express to cover the same distance.

Till now, the semi high-speed train has connected Delhi with Ajmer, Varanasi, Katra, Bhopal, and Amb Andaura in Himachal Pradesh. Also, this is the first Vande Bharat Express for Uttarakhand.
