Former Indian cricketers Venkatesh Prasad and Sunil Joshi recently visited CSK skipper MS Dhoni’s house. Prasad has posted a video of how he was stunned by the car and bike collection of the World Cup winning captain.
MS Dhoni is passionate about cars and bikes, which is why he has a huge garage at his home in Ranchi. The multi-level facility reportedly houses 50 vintage cars and bikes.
During the video, a background voice presumed to be the CSK skipper’s wife Sakshi asks Dhoni for the reason behind the huge collection as she says, “Mahi, why?” Dhoni answered candidly, “Because you took everything, so I needed to have something of my own. So this is the only thing allowed.”
Venkatesh says in the video, “Someone needs to have hell of a lot of passion to do something like this or someone has to be mad,” to which Sakshi replies, “Mad, I would say.”
Last year, the former Indian skipper won the auction for a 1971 Land Rover Series 3 Station Wagon. The auction was held by Big Boy Toyz.
Dhoni is a big fan of vintage cars as he also owns a red coloured Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am which is reportedly 40 years old. The car has 455 big-block V8 engine producing 325 bhp.
Another majestic car in Dhoni’s collection is Rolls Royce Shadow II. This car also comes with a V8 engine with GM-sourced Hydramatic gearbox.
The skipper of Chennai Super Kings also owns a 1969 Ford Mustang, which he bought in 2021. It comes with a 5.0-litre V8 engine producing 221 bhp and 406 Nm of torque.
Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020. During his 15-year long career, he played 538 matches scoring 17,266 runs. Dhoni scored 16 centuries and 108 half-centuries.
