25-year-old actor Angus Cloud was found dead on Monday when EMTs reached for a medical emergency. Cloud was known for his role in the HBO series ‘Euphoria’. The reason for his death is still unknown and is being investigated.
Angus Cloud’s family confirmed his demise and released a statement saying, “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
His family’s statement further revealed, “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.” His father Conor Hickey had passed away in May.

The family of Angus Cloud also mentioned his mental health issues in the statement, “Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
Angus Cloud got his breakout role in 2019, when he played Fezco, a sweet-natured drug dealer who cared deeply for Rue, played by Zendaya.
The role of Fezco was Angus Cloud’s first role and he didn’t even apply for it. Cloud was just walking down the street with his friends in New York when casting scout Eléonore Hendricks noticed him. At first he thought that it was a scam but then he met the casting director Jennifer Venditti and the series creator Sam Levinson who decided to add him to the cast alongside Zendaya for the first two seasons of ‘Euphoria’.
Last year, Angus Cloud spoke to Variety, “It does bother me when people are like, ‘It must be so easy! You get to go in and be yourself.’ I’m like, ‘Why don’t you go and do that?’ It’s not that simple. I brought a lot to the character. You can believe what you want. It ain’t got nothing to do with me.” Even the casting director of Euphoria, Jennifer Venditti felt that people didn’t give enough credit to Cloud for his role of Fezco.
Apart from Euphoria, Cloud also worked in movies – North Hollywood (2021) and ‘The Line’ (2023). He had also signed a horror film recently which also stars Melissa Berrera and Kathryn Newton. The film is being produced by Universal Pictures and directed by the makers of Scream 6, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
Angus Cloud was born in Oakland and he often said that his heart was in that place. Cloud will appear next posthumously in an Oakland-based drama ‘Freaky Tales’ alongside The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal. The film wrapped its production earlier this year in January.
