Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has emerged as India's most valued celebrity of 2022 with a brand value of $181.7 million, according to a report by Kroll. The 'Padmaavat' actor surpassed Indian cricketer Virat Kohli to attain the top spot
Virat Kohli, who held the top spot for five years, fell to the second spot with a brand value of $176.9 million. His brand value has seen a decline for two consecutive years after he left the captaincy of the men’s cricket team
Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone are the other celebrities among top 5. While Akshay Kumar's brand value stood at $153.6 million, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone's brand value stood at $102.9 million and $82.9 million, respectively
Former cricketer MS Dhoni grabbed the sixth spot on the list with a brand value of over $80 million, while Sachin Tendulkar entered the top 10 for the first time, ranking eighth with a brand value of $73.6 million, as per the report titled “Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2022: Beyond the Mainstream”
Surprisingly Shah Rukh Khan stands at the tenth spot in the list, owing to lack of releases for 4 years before Pathaan. Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan are the other big names from the film industry that made it to the top 10 list
Notably, the aggregate brand value of the top 25 celebrities is estimated to be $1.6 billion in 2022, marking an increase of roughly 29.1 per cent from 2021
With South Indian movies garnering a pan-India viewership, for the first time South Indian stars, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, made it to the list of India’s top 25 most valued celebrities
Allu Arjun ranked 20th with a brand value of $31.4 million, while Rashmika Mandanna ranked 25th with a brand value of $25.3 million, according to the report
Meanwhile, Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra also made it to the top 25, along with Commonwealth gold medalist PV Sindhu. They were both valued at $26.5 million
