The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released a video for ‘Modi Modi’, its own version based on the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu from RRR
The song Modi Modi focuses on the achievements of the CM Basavaraj Bommai-led Karnataka government
The viral video shows young men and women performing the Naatu Naatu hook step
The lyrics of the song focused on projects like the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway, Shivamogga airport, metro lines and other welfare schemes of the state government in the last 3 years
This is not the filmy touch to BJP’s campaign for Karnataka polls as Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep backed the BJP and announced his support for CM Basavaraj Bommai. Kichcha said he will campaign for the party but not contest from any seat
Polling in the 224-member Karnataka assembly is scheduled to take place on May 10 and the results are to be declared on May 13
The BJP has released two lists of candidates– one comprises 189 names whereas the other has 23 names. Out of the 189 candidates, 32 are OBC candidates whereas 30 belong to the Scheduled Castes. While 16 candidates are from the Scheduled Tribes, 8 are women
Among the candidates fielded by the BJP, 51 are Lingayats and Vokkaligas. Some notable BJP candidates in Karnataka are:
