17 kg in weight with a dislocated ankle- This was the state of the Bolivian man who was rescued from the Amazon jungle, 31 days after he went missing. His miraculous tale of survival makes him the longest-ever lone survivor in the Amazon
Jhonatan Acosta, 30, was forced to eat worms, insects and even drink his own urine after he got lost in the Amazon jungle
Jhonatan Acosta was on a hunting trip with his four friends in the Amazon jungle but got separated from his group on January 25. In spite of repeated efforts to find his way back, he failed to find a way out of the jungle. What ensued was a 31-day-long battle to survive in the wilderness, reminiscent of the adventures of Bear Grylls in the TV show ‘Man vs Wild’
As per reports, Acosta had to collect rainwater in his rubber boots whenever it poured down, which he later used as drinking water. But whenever it dried up, he had to drink his own urine
The Bolivian man reportedly said that he had been following several adventure-based shows and was aware of survival techniques, which helped him survive in the world’s largest rainforest
Acosta was reported missing by his family after he failed to return along with his friends. Exactly, a month later, he was found by a search-and-rescue team in a dehydrated and injured state
Believe it or not, Jhonatan Acosta even fended off attacks from the wild animals in the Amazon rainforest. As the reports, Acosta “had to fight with a pig” and once “a tiger lurked nearby”
Jonathan Acosta has happily reunited back with his family while his health is reportedly still being monitored
