TasteAtlas, an online and travel food guide has released the list of '150 Most Legendary Restaurants in the World & Their Iconic Dishes'. Seven Indian restaurants have been featured in this list. Take a look

Iconic restaurant in Kerala’s Kozhikode, Paragon, has featured on the list at the 11th spot. The place is famous for its biryani and authentic Malabar cuisine

A heavenly place for the non-vegetarians -- Lucknow’s Tunday Kababi -- has been placed at the 12th spot. Founded in 1905, one of its iconic dishes is Galouti Kebab. The place is famous for its Mughlai cuisine. For the unversed, Galouti Kebab itself has an interesting back story. Aging Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Lucknow was fond of meat but could not chew as his teeth were weak. Hence, a team of cooks created the minced mutton kebab in a way that it literally melts in the mouth

Founded in 1975, Kolkata’s Peter Cat has been placed at the 17th spot. The place is famous for its Chelow Kebab. It is a fusion of Persian and Indian culinary traditions including skewered and grilled meats served with buttered rice and a half-cooked egg

Founded in 1956, the roadside dhaba has grown into a full-fledged restaurant over the years but has not lost its touch of being a local eatery. Its famous offering is the aloo parantha stuffed with spicy potato filling and served with pickle, butter and curd. Apart from this, it is also known for its Dal Makhani and other north Indian dishes

Founded in 1924, Mavali Tiffin Rooms is commonly known as MTR, thanks to its famous pre-mix of upma, idli, sambar and other dishes. It gained its fame for innovating the rice idli into rava idli, made of semolina, during World War 2, a period when the world was facing rice shortage
