Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who has 'Kushi' with Vijay Deverakonda and 'Citadel' with Varun Dhawan lined up, has hinted at taking a break from acting after the web series with Varun Dhawan.
The South Indian actress is currently shooting the last leg of her upcoming romantic flick 'Kushi', which also stars the Arjun Reddy star Vijay Deverakonda.
The 36-year-old actress has decided to take a year-long break from acting to focus on her health. She is about to leave for US for the treatment of Myositis. Samantha was diagnosed with the disease while shooting for Kushi, which led to a delay in the film’s schedule.
Myositis is a group of rare health condition, which makes the muscles weak. Most types of Myositis are autoimmune conditions, where the body's immune system attacks itself, causing swelling of the muscles and joints.
Apart from Kushi, Samantha has also reunited with the Family Man makers, Raj and DK for the international espionage series 'Citadel'.
Last month, Samantha posted a heartfelt note about a year since she was diagnosed with Myositis. She also visited the Church of Saint Sava while she was shooting for 'Citadel' in Serbia.
Samantha has stopped agreeing to any more projects and has also returned the advance she received from the producers for some projects she agreed to earlier and is now backing out of.
Samantha’s first movie with Vijay Deverakonda, 'Kushi', directed by Shiva Nirvana, is set to release in September. The team was last seen shooting a wedding sequence in a temple, where Samantha was in a bridal attire.
The upcoming Indian version of the espionage thriller starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha is in the last leg of production and slated for a release later this year. The Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden version was released earlier this year.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu will look to bounce back after her last release 'Shaakuntalam' didn't make any splash at the box office and was declared a mighty dud.
