Dipesh Shah, known as a successful diamond trader, winded up his lucrative business and turned into a Jain monk along with his wife. On August 17, both Dipesh and Pika rode a luxury car by Jaguar to take their first step towards monkhood
They took this step four years after their then 12-year-old son Bhavya Shah rode a Ferrari luxury car as he left to embrace monkhood. He then changed his name to Bhagyaratna Vijayji

Dipesh and Pika have already embraced the life of abstinence and walked hundreds of kilometres along with other monks. Dipesh walked over 350 km and Pika walked over 500 km along with other monks
As per the monks’ rituals, one needs to lead an ascetic life along with other monks and follow the prescribed daily rituals. Once the other monks are satisfied with the person’s way of living, they are allowed to embrace monkhood

As per reports, Dipesh’s father had a well-established jaggery and sugar business in Maharashtra. However, they shifted to Gujarat and resided closer to the Jain community in order to expand their business in the state
