After the blockbuster sequel of Bhool Bhulaiya, Karthik Aryan and Kiara Advani have once again returned in SatyaPrem Ki Katha, which is releasing on June 29. The film has been directed by Sameer Vidwans under the T-Series banner. However, the film’s song Pasoori Nu has stirred a row on social media, with many commenting against it.
T-Series announced the song Pasoori Nu, a remake of the 2022 Coke Studio (Pakistan) hit ‘Pasoori’, for SatyaPrem Ki Katha. The production house teased the song on Sunday before releasing it on Monday.
The recreated version of the song has been named ‘Pasoori Nu’ and has been sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar. The song has garnered mixed reactions so far.
Users on Twitter reacted to the song Pasoori Nu. A user wrote, “Coke Studio's Pasoori song is choked by T-Series! RIP OG.” Another user said how it was hard to defend Arijit Singh for this remake.
The Indian singing sensation Arijit Singh had earlier sung the original song in one of his concerts and some users compared it to that as they wrote, “I have heard him sing it live, it was so much better than this. Why Arijit why.”
One user blamed the producers for the remake as they wrote, “The part where #PasooriNu peaks is where Arijit Singh takes that leap; curse the makers for not focusing enough on the arrangement, if not anything they could have just kept Arijit's raw vocals.”
One user on Twitter questioned the original artists for selling the rights to the song. He wrote, “Get down from your high horse before questioning Bollywood for remaking #PasooriNu. Why the hell did Ali Sethi sell the music rights of #Pasoori to T-Series? What was he thinking they will do. Now don't say 'He sold it to earn money'. Even he needs popularity & bigger audience.”
A Twitter user praised the song due to the voice of Arijit Singh, as he wrote, “This is What Arijit Singh is Known for. He Recreated 'Pasoori' in his own style. You can love the original version but you can’t ignore Arijit's incredible Voice too in this new Version.”
Last year, Karan Johar’s production house Dharma and T-Series had recreated the 2002 Pakistani song Nach Punjaban for their film ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’. Some other recreated songs include Lambi Judaayi from ‘Jannat’, The Disco Song from ‘Student of The Year’ and Halka Halka Suroor from ‘Fanney Khan’.
