Amid the row over Prabhas’ latest pan-India film Adipurush, Ramanand Sagar’s OG Ramayan will air again on Shemaroo TV from July 3 at 7:30 pm

Shemaroo TV shared the promo of the super hit mythological show on its Instagram handle and wrote in Hindi: “We are bringing to you all dear viewers the world-famous mythological serial ‘Ramayan’… Watch ‘Ramayan’ from July 3 at 7:30 pm only on your favourite channel #ShemarooTV”.

Arun Govil, who played Ram in the iconic serial, slammed Adipurush and called it ‘Hollywood ki cartoon’ and questioned why the makers modernised the epic. Govil said: “What was wrong with the depiction we have all known and loved for all these years? What was the need to change things? Perhaps the team doesn’t have proper faith in Lord Rama and Sita, and that is why they made these changes”

Sunil Lahri, who played Lakshman in the show, said Adipurush left him sorely disappointed. He said people in the theatre were not happy while watching the film and were wondering what is being shown in the name of Ramayana
