Lifestyle coach and motivational speaker Swami Gaur Gopal Das, who is associated with ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), shared a heartwarming story about his friend Prem Kishore Prabhu on Friendship Day on August 6
Swami Gaur Gopal Das, who calls himself an ‘International Life Coach, Wellness Advisor, Author & Motivational Strategist’, shared a video on his LinkedIn account where he talked about his childhood friend Prem Kishore Prabhu
Gaur Gopal Das took friendly jibes at Prem Kishore Prabhu who was sitting in the audience as he said, “Look at this gentleman here, he is a very close friend of mine, always covered with that stuff on his head,” pointing at the yellow-saffron stole worn by Prem Kishore Prabhu
“Air conditioning doesn’t suit him, no matter wherever we go, I have told him a million times, when you come with me, you are not going to put that stuff on your head,” Gaur Gopal Das said drawing laughs from the audience
Gaur Gopal Das shared an advice on how one must learn to overlook small things as he said, “It’s a small thing, the love he has given me, the way he has maintained this friendship for 27 years, for this piece of cloth, should I forget the friendship I have with him.”
Recalling his days at the ashram, Gaur Gopal Das said, “Whenever I would come back from the hot sun, suddenly I would come and open the locker and I would find a chilled mango shake in my locker. For the first few weeks, I did not know who it was. One day I hid behind and saw, it was him (Prem Kishore Prabhu) who cared that I am coming back from the heat.”
Gaur Gopal Das shared his wisdom on life as he said, “If he (Prem Kishore Prabhu) can care for me so much, should I not save him from the chilled A/C by allowing him that little cloth?”
Advising his listeners to let go of some things, Gaur Gopal Das said, “Life is not easy, you have to make it easy by gaining experiences and by ignoring a few things at times because at the end of the day guys we need each other.”
Friendship Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August and honours the bonds shared by friends
