A passenger travelling in the Bhopal to Gwalior Vande Bharat Express train found a cockroach rolled in the chapati served in his meal
An X (formerly Twitter) user named Subodh Pahalajan wrote, “Found a cockroach in my food in the Vande Bharat train” and tagged IRCTC and Divisional Railway Manager- Mumbai Division of Western Railway
Another X (formerly Twitter) user, Shubham Agnihotri wrote, “I am also travelling in the same train and I saw the cockroach in the Paratha. Parathas were sub-par and instead of the regular theplas, parathas were served. Caterer- Brindawan Caterers.”

IRCTC promptly responded to the tweet and wrote, "We did not intend for this unpleasant experience. Appropriate actions will be taken to ensure that such incidents will not repeat."
People have been complaining about the food quality in Vande Bharat Express trains. In July, an X (formerly Twitter) user Himanshu Mukerjee shared photos of the meal he was served while travelling on 22230 Vande Bharat Express from Madgaon Junction in Goa to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai
The user claimed to be a daily traveller on the Vande Bharat Express and said that after paying Rs 250, he was served “stone hard paneer, cold food and stale salty dal”
A total of 8,000 Vande Bharat coaches will be manufactured over the next few years as the Indian Railways prepares to overhaul its fleet completely and induct more of these semi-high speed trains
A total of 25 semi-high-speed blue-white Vande Bharat trains are operating in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated two new Vande Bharat trains - Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express and Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express
