The Art of Pouring Beer

The Art of Pouring Beer

The glass should lie flat when it becomes full, with about one-and-a-half inch of head at the top. Wait a few seconds for the head to settle before drinking.
1. Tilt the beer glass at a 45 degree angle, so that one side rests on the table. Position the beer bottle a few inches above the mid-point of the sloped side of the glass.

2. Begin pouring the beer in a steady stream - targeting the middle of the sloped side of glass - so that the beer flows smoothly down the side without a back-splash

3. Start turning the glass straight when it is about half-way full. As you add some distance between the bottle and the glass, pour it down its centre.

4. The glass should lie flat when it becomes full, with about one-and-a-half inch of head at the top. Wait a few seconds for the head to settle before drinking.
