My first job: After finishing high school, I worked at the local post office delivering letters and parcels in my hometown

My first boss: Told me to go to the barber's and get a decent haircut

My first promotion: As General Manager in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was an adventure to live and work in such an exotic part of the world. Since then I am a fan of Africa

My first disappointment: When verifying my first salary statement I found that, after deductions, I got only 60 per cent of my pay
