Health check-ups for executives

Whether you are currently in your 30s, 40s or 50s, you should get the following heath checks done at regular intervals.
Medical check-ups at 30s
Blood Sugar: Says Dr Manoj Kumar, Consultant, Fortis Hospital, New Delhi: “Normal level of sugar in blood before your meal should be between 70 and 110 mg/dl.” Get this test done once every few months.
Lipid Profile: Says Dr Alok Kumar Aggarwal, Senior Consultant, Apollo Hospital, New Delhi: “A complete lipid profile (or cholesterol level screening test) involves the measurement of the total cholesterol in the blood. Cholesterol levels of 200 mg/dl or more increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, coronary artery disease.”
Medical check-ups at 40s
Blood Pressure Screening: Your blood pressure is normal if it’s below 120/80 mm HG. Says Dr Aggarwal: “High blood increases the risk of heart failure, kidney failure, and heart attack.”
ECG Test: Every one aged 40 and above should get a baseline ECG test done. ECG is an instrument that records the electric currents generated by a heart beat. By measuring this, a doctor can find out if the heart is functioning normally.
Medical check-ups at 50s
Bone Density Test: A bone density test detects the early stages of osteoporosis, a disease that occurs when the bones lose calcium and other minerals that keep them strong.
Prostate Specific Antigen Test:
Says Dr Aggarwal: “It is an essential blood test because early detection of prostate cancer often results in higher survival rates.”
