A O Smith EWS (Rs 5,825 for 5 litre)
This AO Smith water heater made it to our list because it is ideal in every aspect. It is energy-efficient (BEE gave it 4 stars), has safety features and is available in several colours.
Its glass coated heating element prevents scale formation which extends the life of the element and also cuts down the electricity consumption.
And the safety valve incorporated in the design automatically releases water in case the temperature or pressure exceeds the desired limits.
