Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an exclusive interview with India Today Group, said people were committed to electing a strong government like NDA and expressed confidence that they will come out and vote in huge numbers despite the heatwave to secure the country's future. Asked about opposition’s contention that the NDA government had failed to provide jobs to the youth of the country, PM Modi hit back at the allegations. He cited various central schemes like the Mudra Yojna under which, he said, 420 million loans with a total disbursal of nearly ₹28 trillion had been given. He also mentioned the success of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme and the huge investments in road and highways construction, railways and various housing schemes. In his conversation with Himanshu Mishra of the India Today Group, the Prime Minister also pointed out the opposition hypocrisy questioning how could state governments claim to have created jobs without the nation adding to the overall jobs tally.
