External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, when asked to comment on Pakistan foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto's remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said, "Our expectation levels with the Pakistanis are never very high." Jaishankar was speaking at India Today's Indo-Japan conclave. Protests had erupted across the country after Bhutto's "butcher of Gujarat" remark against the prime minister. His remark was in response to Jaishankar's "Hosting Osama Bin Laden" comment. The two counterparts got into a war of words at a United Nations Security Council briefing on counter terrorism. Jaishankar added that the foreign ministry has said "whatever we have to say" regarding Bhutto's remark. Earlier, the ministry of external affairs released a statement on Bhutto's remark and said it was "a new low, even for Pakistan". The ministry said the Pakistan minister's frustration would be "better directed towards the masterminds of terrorist enterprises in his own country, who have made terrorism a part of their State policy." "Pakistan needs to change its own mindset or remain a pariah," it added. Watch here
