The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) confirmed McDonald’s India's use of 100% real cheese, says Westlife Foodworld. The brand's assertion of no cheese analogues or substitutes was verified. Mcdonald's India also claims that tests conducted by an NABL-accredited lab in the west and south zones of McDonald’s India affirmed the use of 100% real cheese in all products. Earlier, the Maharashtra government banned McDonald's store in the state over allegations of using fake cheese. However, Westlife's appeal led to the ban being lifted.
