The Delhi Police is planning to write to Bumble, a dating app to know more about Aaftab Ameen Poonawala's dating history after the 28-year old was arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend.
Poonawala, allegedly chopped his girlfriend, Shraddha Walkar into 35 pieces and disposed them separately in Delhi's Mehrulli forest.
According to Delhi Police, Walkar was killed some months back and to store her dead body, Poonawalla bought a new fridge.
Shortly after Walkar's death, Poonawala once again signed up for the dating app, Bumble and matched with another woman. His match from the dating app, visited his apartment frequently while pieces of Shraddha's body were kept hidden in the fridge and closet.
India Today has learnt that the Delhi Police is also looking at a possibility of Poonawala's new match from the dating app, being the motivation behind Walkar's death.
Poonawala and Walkar had also met through the same dating app, Bumble in Mumbai before moving to Delhi.
Bumble did not immediately respond to Business Today's queries.
Bumble is an online dating app where profiles of potential candidates are displayed to users. The users can then either left swipe to reject or, right swipe to match with the profile on display. The app also differentiates itself from other apps by enabling women to send the first text to a man.
