While some countries are looking forward to welcoming foreign tourists soon, others are struggling with deaths due to lack of resources, beds, vaccines, oxygen and more. Here are the 10 worst-hit countries in the world and how they are coping with the virus.

United StatesThe United States reported some 33,321,244 active COVID cases as on May 6. The pandemic has claimed some 593,148 lives in the country.

IndiaIndia's total number of active COVID cases stands at 21,077,410 (21.1 M) with a death toll of 2,30,168  (230K) so far. Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed that states should be given required help and guidance to ramp up healthcare infrastructure. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal thanked PM Modi as Delhi received 730 metric tonnes of oxygen on May 5.
