Bajaj Auto has registered its
highest ever sales for the month of March, at 3,35,515 units for March 2012, and posted a rise of 9 per cent in the sales against the correponding month last year.
The company posted sales of 3,07,741 units in March 2011.
The company sold 3,00,848 units of motorcycles in March 2012, up 10 per cent from 274,392 sold in the corresponding period of last year.
Commercial vehicle sales grew 4 per cent in March and stood at 34,667 units compared to 33,349 units in the like period of 2011. The company's exports during March 2012 grew 54 per cent at 107,691 units against 69,884 units in March 2011.
For 2011-12,
the company sold a total of 4,349,560 units, up 14 per cent from 3,823,954 units in 2010-11.
Segment-wise, the company sold 38,34,405 units of motorcycles in the period under review, up 13 per cent from 33,87,043 units sold in 2010-11.
"The
highest ever annual sales (of motorcycles). Pulsar cumulative sales exceeded 5 million units since launch," the company said in a statement.
The automobile manufacturer's exports during the financial year grew 31 per cent, thereby achiving the highest ever annual exports at 1,579,824 units from 1,203,718 units in 2010-11.
Commercial vehicle sales grew 18 per cent in 2011-12 and stood at 5,15,155 units against 4,36,884 units in the 2010-11.
The company's scrip at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was trading at Rs 1,660, up 0.39 per cent, at 1.10 pm.
