Honda has announced that it would launch its entry level sedan,
Amaze, in India on April 11. Honda has opened bookings for Amaze, which would be carmaker's first diesel car in India.
Honda Amaze would be available in both petrol and diesel versions.
The diesel version of Amaze would be powered by Honda's new i-DTEC engine, which promises a mileage of 25.8 kilometre per litre. The 1.5-litre engine would deliver a power of 100 PS, says the automaker.
The launch of Honda Amaze comes at a time when the car market is going through its worst period in almost a decade.
Car sales in India declined by 25.71 per cent in February, the biggest fall in more than 12 years and the fourth consecutive monthly slide , to 1,58,513 units compared to 2,13,362 units in the same month last year.
