Maruti Suzuki Baleno bookings open ahead of October 26 launch

Maruti Suzuki has come up with its latest hatchback Baleno, also known as YRA, that will be launched on October 26 this month. The pre-bookings for the automobile, which will be sold exclusively via the company's dealership range of Nexa showrooms, have opened.

The production of Maruti Suzuki Baleno has commenced at the companys' Manesar-based manufacturing unit. Besides the domestic market, the new model will also be exported to Suzuki's global markets from India.

Maruti Suzuki's latest offering will make the competition fierce in the premium hatchback segment. Though there is no official word from the company, the dealers are taking a pre-booking sum of Rs 25,000 for Baleno.

Likely specifications of Baleno:

 

• The premium hatchback from India's biggest carmaker will be available in both petrol and diesel options.
• The petrol variant will be powered by a 1.2 litre engine, while the diesel one will have a 1.3 litre engine.
• Baleno in India will have Apple CarPlay, an initiative in car entertainment system from the global leader of smartphones. Maruti Suzuki will be the first Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India to offer Apple CarPlay for its customers.

Competition: Baleno will add to Maruti Suzuki's portfolio in the premium compact hatchback segment and it will take on the likes of Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.

 

The car was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15 earlier this year.
