'people's car' Nano registered the highest-ever monthly sales as it crossed the 10,000-units mark in April, pushing up the company's overall
vehicle sales by 13 per cent against the year-ago period.
Tata Motors sold a total of 10,012 units of Nano in April - a growth of 184 per cent against April 2010.
The total passenger vehicle sales of Tata Motors stood at 25,436 units. Sales of both the Indica and Indigo models dipped 53 per cent and 27 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the two-wheelers segment continued to post double-digit growth as India Yamaha Motor reported a 38.1 per cent rise in its total sales at 34,476 units in April. TVS Motors too, posted a 14 per cent growth in overall sales for April, on the back of robust scooter sales.
The firm registered sales of 167,744 units against 147,172 units in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement.
