
Renault on Thursday launched its much awaited hatchback Kwid in India at a starting price of Rs 2.56 lakh. Its top end variant is available at Rs 3.54 lakh (ex showroom Delhi).
It is expected to compete with Maruti Suzuki's best seller Alto and Hyundai Eon. While Maruti Alto800 is priced between Rs 2.83 lakh and Rs 3.4 lakh, Hyundai Eon is priced between Rs 3.09 lakh and Rs 4.22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Developed on Renault-Nissan alliance's global CMF-A platform, it is a combined effort from engineers in France, Japan and India. The french carmaker claims it returns 25.17 km per litre on petrol. It sports a 799-cc three cylinder engine.
The car has features such as electric power steering, power assisted windows, navigation with turn by turn voice guidance and remoteless key entry. It comes with high ground clearance of 180 mm.
