Tata Motors sales down 28 per cent in October

Tata Motors has reported 28 per cent decline in total vehicle sales at 51,638 units in October 2013.

The company had sold 71,771 units in the same month last year, it said in a statement.

Total passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 14,133 units in October, down 33 per cent from 21,119 units in the same month last year.

Sales of Nano, Indica, Indigo range in October 2013 were 10,944 units while that of Sumo, Safari, Aria, Venture range were at 3,189 units, the company said.

In the commercial vehicles segment, Tata Motors' sales dropped by 30.26 per cent to 32,793 units in the domestic market during the month compared to 47,026 units in the corresponding period last year.

The company's exports grew by 29.95 per cent to 4,712 units last month from 3,626 units in the same month last year, it added.
