
Tata Motors on Monday reported a 5.19 per cent increase in total sales at 42,582 units in January 2015, as against 40,481 units in the corresponding month a year ago.
Domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles grew by 5.35 per cent at 38,621 units as compared to 36,657 units in January 2014, Tata Motors said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The car major's domestic sales of passenger vehicles stood at 13,047 units in the reporting month, up 18.89 per cent from 10,974 units in January 2014.
In the commercial vehicles segment, domestic sales of Tata Motors remained flat at 25,574 units during the month, the company said.
Exports during January 2015 stood at 3,961 units, up 3.58 per cent as against 3,824 units in the same month a year earlier.
The company's scrip was trading at Rs 583 a piece, down 1.95 points (or 0.33 per cent) on the BSE at 12:40 pm.
