Auto sales see uptick in January; Maruti Suzuki leads the pack

Maruti Suzuki India expected to sold 166,676 units in January 2021 against 1, 54,123 in January 2020 recording a growth of 8% on y-o-y basis.
Mahindra & Mahindra's overall auto sales (passenger vehicles commercial vehicles exports) for the month of January 2021 projected at 68,303 vehicles, compared to 75,662 in January 2020.
Homegrown automaker Tata Motors projected 28% growth in vehicle sales in the domestic market at 61,260 units in January 2021.
The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp forecasted 0.1% increase in total sales at 5,02,000 units in January 2021.
Bajaj Auto Ltd managed a stellar show in January 2021 with the recovery in domestic two-wheeler sales complimenting the strong momentum in exports. It saw a y-o-y growth of 4.2% in January 2021.
Total vehicle sales in the domestic market estimates at 14,878 units in January 2021 as compared to 11,850 units in the year-ago period, a growth of 25.6%.
TVS Motor Company's sales have estimated to risen by 16.1% at 272,772 units in January 2021 as against 2,34,920 units sold in January 2020.
