Hiring activity in India witnessed a 15 per cent decline in April 2021 as compared to March 2021 due to the impact of the second Covid-19 wave, according to Naukri JobSpeak, a monthly Index that calculates and records hiring activity.
Hiring activity in insurance sector during April 2021 declined by 5% as compared to March 2021.
Hiring activity in Pharma sector declined by 9% in April 2021.
Hiring activity in medical and healthcare sector declined by 10% during April 2021.
The IT-software sector saw a decline of 12% in hiring activity during the month.
In FMCG, hiring declined by 15% as compared to March 2021.
The retail sector, which grew in March, experienced a sharp decline of 33% in April due to restricted operating hours or closure owing to lockdowns in many parts of the country.
Hiring activity in banking and finance sector declined by 26% in April 2021 from a month ago.
