Mutual funds' assets increases to Rs 28.2 lakh crore in October

Net assets under management (AUM) of mutual funds increased to Rs 28.2 lakh crore in October from Rs 26.9 lakh crore in September 2020. This translated into a rise of 5.1 per cent.

The number of mutual fund schemes fell to 1,742 in October from 1,753 in the preceding month.

The number of folios increased to 93.7 million from 93.3 million at the end of September 2020.  

Mutual funds mobilised Rs 6.4 lakh crore in October 2020 compared to Rs 6.6 lakh crore in the earlier month. They saw redemptions of Rs.5.4 lakh crore during the month.  

The industry saw net inflows during the month amounting to Rs 98,575.9 crore compared to outflows close to Rs 52,091 crore in September.
