A Look At How Intel Lost The Pedestal Of #1 Chip Company To Nvidia

Intel, once a dominant force in the semiconductor industry, will be removed from Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) on Friday, November 8 after more than 25 years of inclusion. The move reflected a broader shift in the tech landscape. As newer companies like Nvidia, Qualcoom, TSMC surge in market value and influence, Intel has struggled to keep pace, particularly as it faced delays in adopting cutting-edge chip manufacturing processes and technologies like artificial intelligence. Nvidia, long known for its graphics processing units (GPUs) used in gaming, found new applications for its technology in AI, cloud computing, and machine learning. Its GPUs became essential for training AI models, giving Nvidia a significant edge in high-performance computing.
