HDFC Life, a leading private sector life insurer, reported a 15% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its net profit, reaching ₹433 crore in Q2 FY25. The value of new business (VNB) also saw a 17.1% YoY rise to ₹938 crore, though the VNB margin contracted to 24.3% from 26.3% in the previous year. New business premiums grew by 14.03% YoY to ₹8,097 crore, while the annualised premium equivalent (APE) surged 26.7% YoY to ₹3,858 crore. The solvency ratio dropped to 181% vs 194% YoY, and also the insurer raised ₹1,000 crore via non-convertible debentures (NCDs).
