It is bad news for the buyers of Supertech's Supernova flats, the tallest building in North India, with the developer going into bankruptcy. The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has accepted the appeal to initiate bankruptcy processes against Supertech Realtors, a subsidiary of Supertech Developers. Supertech Realtors is developing Supernova towers which comprise residential apartments, office and retail space as well as a hotel. An insolvency plea was filed by the Bank of Maharashtra and others who claimed that Supertech had failed to repay loan obligations of more than ₹168 crore. NCLT admitted the plea and suspended the board of Supertech Realtors while appointing Anju Agarwal as the interim resolution professional (IRP). Supertech Realtors is developing Supernova project at a cost of ₹2,326 crore on land measuring 70,002 square metres in Sector 94, Noida.
