Ola Electric is facing scrutiny after the Central Consumer Protection Authority issued a notice, following the government’s review of over 10,600 complaints related to service deficiencies, misleading advertisements, and possible violations of the Consumer Protection Act. The electric scooter maker has been given 15 days to respond as public dissatisfaction grows. Adding to the controversy, Ola Electric’s stock dropped by more than 8% on Monday. The situation intensified with a social media feud between Ola’s co-founder, Bhavish Aggarwal, and comedian Kunal Kamra. Kamra criticized Aggarwal's promotional tweets about Ola’s new GIGAFACTORY, questioning the condition of abandoned e-scooters at the company’s service centers. Aggarwal responded by challenging Kamra to join Ola and earn more than he does in comedy, dismissing Kamra's critiques as "armchair criticism." This public clash, combined with government scrutiny, has come at a time when Ola Electric is already under fire from consumers, damaging the company’s reputation and stock market performance. It remains to be seen how Ola Electric will manage these challenges and address the growing consumer concerns.
